At Et Lorem, we are proud to have collaborated with GM Developments and Perring Design on the creation of a luxury kitchen for Buckingham Mews, London. This project was part of a full refurbishment and extension of an existing mews property, transforming it into a beautifully designed home. With its prime location just moments from Buckingham Palace and the nearby amenities of Cardinal Place, this home offers the perfect combination of privacy and centrality, and we were delighted to play a role in its transformation.
The overall property was designed with great care by Perring Design, who briefed us along with GM Developments to create a compact yet luxurious kitchen space that blends style and functionality, with finishes that reflect the premium nature of the property.
Working closely with Perring Design and GM Developments, we chose materials and finishes that reflect understated elegance while adding a sense of depth and richness to the space. The cabinetry was crafted using Doimo furniture in Sawn Oak Veneer, selected for its warm, textured appearance. The combination of black handle-less rails and Armac Martin Leebank Bar Handles in Satin Antique Lacquered provided a seamless look with subtle, luxurious detailing. These choices were instrumental in creating a refined aesthetic, while the high-quality materials ensured durability and practicality.
At the centre of the kitchen, we installed a stunning Dekton Onrika Morpheus worktop, mitred to a bold 60mm thickness. This premium stone material not only adds an undeniable sense of luxury but also offers a highly durable surface, perfect for everyday use. The worktop extends into a stone shelf and splashback, creating a continuous and harmonious design that enhances the flow of the space.
No luxury kitchen is complete without exceptional fixtures, and for this project, we selected the Quooker Fusion Square Tap in Patinated Brass. This beautiful fixture adds warmth and character to the design, while also offering multifunctional convenience, delivering instant boiling, hot, and cold water. It’s the perfect marriage of form and function, aligning with the overall vision for a stylish yet highly practical kitchen.
To ensure the space remained sleek and uncluttered, we integrated Siemens hidden appliances, including a 750mm fridge freezer, into the cabinetry. This approach allowed the appliances to blend seamlessly with the overall design, maintaining the clean, minimalist aesthetic we aimed for. Gaggenau 200 series ovens were chosen for their professional-grade performance and elegant appearance, providing the future homeowners with top-tier cooking technology. These were paired with a BORA Pure Induction Hob, selected for its compact, efficient design that perfectly suits the kitchen’s proportions.
While the space needed to be compact, the goal was to create a kitchen that would still deliver a strong visual impact. The location, just a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, called for the use of high-end finishes and a considered approach to ensure the design felt luxurious without being ostentatious. Every element of the kitchen was chosen to reflect the premium nature of the property, from the exquisite materials to the advanced technology embedded in the appliances.
The result is a kitchen that has the essence of modern luxury—beautifully designed, functional, and built to the highest standards. The bespoke joinery, seamless integration of appliances, and attention to detail all contribute to a space that feels both inviting and impressive. This kitchen serves as a key feature of the overall renovation, reflecting the careful planning and craftsmanship that went into the property’s transformation.
Working on this project alongside GM Developments and Perring Design has been a rewarding experience. The kitchen at Buckingham Mews is a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared vision. It stands as a perfect example of how thoughtful design, high-quality materials, and attention to detail can elevate a space, creating a kitchen that is both a functional workspace and a statement of luxury. This project reinforces Et Lorem’s commitment to delivering kitchens that combine style, innovation, and practicality for the modern home.
